Ciao!!
This week has felt so slow and long. Some pretty interesting stuff happened.
Conference was amazing! So cool to be around all the missionaries watching it together. Definitely gained a ton of insight. I think its really cool how we are putting so much emphasis on our name as members now. Pretty cool. Also 12 new temples!! Crazy! The one in Rome is supposed to be dedicated in March! Also we watched a movie Sunday night called Testaments. I recommend you watch that movie. It is so good. It's really cringy an will make you laugh but will also make you really feel the spirit.
So Sunday night I actually get to bed at a good time, 10:45pm. I fall asleep and all of the sudden I wake up and the light is still on and it was midnight. I look around and I see that the door is open. So I jump up and I look out the door and I am immediately stopped by a firefighter!! He told me to cover my nose and mouth and to get everyone out of my room and outside as fast as possible there is a gas leak throughout the building! As soon as he said gas leak I immediately smelled it and had been inhaling it the whole time so I got super light headed. But I rush into the room and wake everyone up except my companion because he was already awake. It was so hectic. We were all trying to get everyone up and rushing outside. Some people weren't waking up and their doors were closed so the fireman were kicking the doors super hard to wake them up. It was crazy. So we all get outside and our zone leader realizes that everyone in our zone isn't out so he runs back in to get them. He comes back out with them and we move to another building. As soon as we get to the other building he collapses on to the floor and starts coughing. He actually has a form of asthma and the gas was making it really act up. It was bad. So he needed his inhaler. So me and my companion run back to his room to get his inhaler. They said the building was cleared of the gas but it still was bad, so I got pretty sick in there, but we found it and bolted back. We rush the inhaler to him and all of the sudden one guy comes up with an oil vile and asks me, " do you know how to bless". I said yes. So i grabbed the oil vile and grabbed the zone leaders companion and performed the blessing. I anointed and then his companion gave the blessing. That was one of the most spiritual moments I have ever had and I felt it so hard. It was so crazy. Later he told me that as soon as we finished the blessing it got so much better. After we finished with the blessing my head started to hurt really bad and same with my chest but it got better once I started breathing in clean air and drinking water. It was a crazy experience but really cool to be a part of.
Nothing happened on Monday.
Tuesday night devotional was really good. We got to hear from Sister Cordon, the General Young Womens president. She talked about basic missionary work. We sang Sweet Hour of Prayer as a choir and it was so pretty.
Wednesday, we got to host the new missionaries!! It was so cool to be on the other side of that experience. I remember how I felt when I first got to the MTC so it was cool to be able to be there for those new missionaries and be able to talk to them and show them around. That night with Sorella Blandford, we all sat down and kind of did a heart to heart with our district. It was so special. We all voiced how much we loved Sorella Blandford and how much she means to us and and just all the nice things and why we love her. We literally all said these things and she started to cry. She is literally an Angel on earth. She then told us how much we meant to her and that she loves us and how we make her so happy and proud, it was a special night. I can for sure testify, that our district was put together for a reason, and the teachers we have, we have them for a reason too.
Thursday was pretty laid back. Nothing too special.
We went to the temple as a district today and did an endowment session, so that was really cool.
About 17 days until I leave for Italy!! So crazy!! I've been receiving emails from Milan and about departing info. So crazy!! I love you all, and would love to hear from you!! Also I may send a video sometime of me speaking Italian so you guys know that I am actually learning it. Haha. Maybe my testimony or something!
Vi voglio bene!
