Ciao a tutti!
This past week has gone by so fast. It's crazy that this transfer is almost over. Only 2 more weeks! I don't know how I'm gonna feel about leaving Lombardi :( He is so dope and we are literally each other. I'm gonna miss him a lot. Anyways now about this week.
Nothing to special happened on Thursday but on Friday we got to do scambio with the Capi (zone leaders). It was pretty interesting. So we were supposed to go to Genova around 10:30 am but our train was gonna get us there at 11am. So the Capi had an appointment set up for us to go to at 11 in Savona. So we ended up meeting the Capi in Savona and then going from there. So scambio is basically where you get to go and do stuff with other Anziani. The Capi are Anziano Christiansen and Anziano Welch. They are so dope. I got to be with Christiansen. We had a pretty interesting day. Once me and Lombardi got to Savona Christiansen and I got back in a train and went right back to Genova while Lombardi and Welch stayed in Savona. Me and Christiansen had a dope lesson with one of there simps. His name is Antonio and he is super cool. He loves chess and so we played with him for a bit. At one point he asked me if I understood him, I said "un pò" which means a little and he told me to just be tranquil and to not worry if I don't because he is old and has a high vocab :D. He was a really cool guy. He has been taught all the lessons so we talked with him about how to study better. At the end I got to bear my testimony. We didn't have time to go over what I was going to say in my testimony like I normally do so I totally just went by the spirit and trusted the Lord and myself that I could say it well in Italian. And guess what!!? I did pretty good! Christiansen said I didn't make any mistakes and that it fit very well with what we talked about. So that was dope. Christiansen has been having some chest and stomach pains for the past 2 months. So after the lesson guess what we got to do!! We went to the hospital so he could get checked out. If you don't know about Italian hospitals, THEY ABSOLUTELY SUCK! Like no joke. Let me tell you about this. We got to the hospital at 6pm. They put us in a waiting room full of other people who were waiting. Some people on stretchers or wheel chairs. The way they do stuff is they give you a color based on how bad you are. So if you are a red you are in need of emergency care. Green is you are pretty bad and need attention very soon. Blue is that it isn't very urgent and that you can wait. And white is you are not in any urgency so you can wait. And we just so happened to be put under white. So we went in with the nurse and for whatever reason they immediately took his blood. When they brought out the needles he got super bug eyed. He apparently hates getting blood and I don't blame him. I hate it too. They took 4 viles of blood. He said that he had to look at my beautiful face to keep from passing out :D. After we were done with the nurse we waited for guess how long.....3 hours! Until we got to see a doctor. After that we got set up to take x-rays and we had to wait 2 hours until we got to do that. And then we waited another 1 and a half hours for the results. So we were at the hospital for over 6 hours!! It was so long. But me and Christensen just talked about different stuff the entire time. It was alright. The mission couple came and picked us up at 1 I'm the morning and took us home. Once we got home we realized that Welch had the keys and they were already home and asleep and both of them would not answer there dang phones. So we were stuck outside for 30 mins and then finally Welch picked up and let us in. After that we were both pretty annoyed so we just ate something really fast then went right to bed. Scambio wasn't terrible but it wasn't necessarily fun, Haha. Anyways, Lombardi and I went back to Torino around 10 am on Saturday. Sunday was pretty good. Having 2 hours of church was really nice. After church we went and did finding with Sorelle. It was fun. I love the Sorelle! They are so dope. We moved our p-day to Monday because of SALDI!! The huge sale Italy has on clothes. I'm so excited for this entire month. All clothes on sale!! So all us missionaries went saldi shopping on Monday. It was so much fun. Tuesday we just cleaned up the house and did some more finding. Saturday I will have been on my mission for 4 months. So crazy! Time flies when you are having fun. Oh also I tried sushi for the first time. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be. It is definitely an acquired taste. Anyways, that's about it for this week.
Spiritual thought:
This past general conference elder Paul Pieper gave a talk called "All Must Take Upon Them the Name Given of the Father". In there he says, "The Savior’s name has singular and essential power. It is the only name by which salvation is possible. By emphasizing this truth in every dispensation, our loving Father assures all of His children that there is a way back to Him. But having a sure way available does not mean that our return is automatically assured. God tells us that our action is required: “Wherefore, all men [and women] must take upon them the name which is given of the Father"."
It is really important that we take the name of the father upon us. Which means we strive to be like him. To be the best we can be. As a missionary it's super cool to literally have the name of the Lord on my chest. And so I strive to be the best I can be.
Vi voglio bene!!
I'd love to hear from some of you guys! Again thanks to all those who do email me!!
