Buongiorno a tutti!
This past week went by fast! We had a good week. Again nothing to crazy.
Pday last week was super chill and kinda boring Haha. It was raining so we couldn't do much. Just did groceries and I got to call my fam. It was good though.
Thursday we had a good lesson with JP. We have already thought him all the required lessons for baptism so we are just like reading the scriptures with him and and talking about his questions when he has them. So this time we talked about prayer. And the importance of it and why we do it and how we do it. He liked it and said it was really helpful.
Friday we went to Lago di Garda and went to the island again. Our ward mission leader invited us and the Sorelle over for lunch and that's where he lives. It was fun. Our ward mission leader is such a nut. He is so funny. He is pretty young and is just crazy Haha. He and his wife made us a great carbonara, yum. And then we had fragola cake(strawberry cake). So good! After, we headed home and had another lesson with JP. This time we talked about Lehi's vision of the Tree of Life. It went really well. He understood all the symbolism and enjoyed the story. We had some time left after we finished so we just decided to show him the 20 min video of the restoration on Gospel Library. I always feel the spirit super strong when watching that and JP really liked it as well.
Saturday we had another lunch appointment with the Sorelle. It was with a English class student. He made us carbonara also as well as spaghetti with ragù and some chicken and potatoes. Also so good! Saturday was also transfer calls. So......I'm staying in Brescia with Anziano Thomas! I actually was really expecting to leave but it's all good because now I get to stay for JPs baptism! This next transfer will be great. Also that night we went to a Jazz Concert. Called La grande notte del jazz. It was pretty interesting. It was not what I expected Haha. We were sitting there waiting for it to start, and when it did the first Concert was of a Jazz Band made up of a bunch of 70 year old's! I wasn't the best jazz I've heard but it was alright Haha. The second part we went to was a Trio, a women on the violin, and man on the cello, and another man on the accordion. That was pretty dang cool. They played some sick stuff and it was awesome. Since it was called la grande notte del jazz(the great night of jazz) it went all night long. like until 2 in the morning. But we just left after the second concert around 9:30 pm. But it was fun.
Church on Sunday was great. JP came to church!! He loved it. It was fast and testimony meeting so it was perfect for JP hearing everyone's testimony of the church.
Monday was a normal day. Our ward mission leader loves baseball. And they don't really play baseball here in Italy. But it's super funny because he will talk to me about the Royals when he sees me because he watches there games because I'm from Kansas. But he really wanted to learn how to play and to actually play baseball. So we organized something and had a baseball activity Monday evening. We had a few members show up along with us missionaries and Davide(ward mission leader). It was really fun! We had a good friendly game of baseball. I felt like I was in The Sandlot lol. After baseball us and the Sorelle went and got some good gelato. The place we went to had MINT CHOCOLATE CHIP!! It was probably the second best gelato I've had( first definitely was brownie gelato with brownie chunks, delizioso!).
Tuesday we had district meeting in Verona. Had a good meeting. After the meeting we signed dedicas and took pictures and ate pizza. We had a good lesson with JP that night before English class. We read a talk given by President Nelson back in April 2007 about repentance. It went really well and he told some great experiences and really felt the spirit. He stayed for English class again so that was good. English class went well.
Overall we had a pretty great week. Thanks for your emails! I know I'm not very good at responding to them but I do appreciate them. I normally don't have a lot of time to respond so I make sure I get this one out most importantly.
Vi voglio bene!!
