First week in Cimiano down! It's been going great. Being back with Anziano Lombardi has been awesome. I missed him a lot. I'm glad I get to spend his last transfer with him.
Last Wednesday was pretty crazy. Transfer day is always weird. I left Brescia around 10:30 am and arrived in Milano around 11:30 am. Anziano Lombardi picked me up at the train station and we went to the church and said hi to all the trainers and greenies and just all the missionaries there. It was super fun. After awhile of being at the church we went and got pizza with our Capi. Then we went home and I unpacked a bit and just chilled at home the rest of the evening.
Thursday we took a short pday in the morning. Because we needed to still do groceries and just get things ready for the week. After that we went and did some service. Once a month we go and helped these kind of older people Haha, unload a truck full of good for there church. So we went and did that for about and hour and a half. The Sorelle were there too. It was fun.
Friday we went to help the senior couple with this thing they do called Friendship Day. The senior couples mission call to the Humanitarian service of the church. So they help the refugees here and its pretty cool. So every Friday they do Friendship Day. And we go and just help set up and then take down at the end. After we set up they took us out to lunch which was super nice. And we just talked and ate pizza with them. And it was fun. After it was over and we took it all down we had a lesson to go to. They are husband and wife. The husbands name is Edgar and he is a member. And his wife Teresa is not. She has had all the lessons done just read a talk about faith and how having faith helps us through our trials and our doubts. It was a really good lesson. According to Anziano Lombardi she wasn't wanting to be baptized but now she told us that she would pray and start thinking about it. So that's awesome!
Saturday we went with the Sorelle to get Me and Sorella Norton's abbonamento (buss/metro pass). After we went and got some gelato which was so good. We didn't have a lot that day. We did some finding in the evening.
My first Sunday in Cimiano was great! There are so many members here! Anziano Lombardi said that we have had over 200 here before. That's so crazy! And there are so many immigrant. Lots of South Americans. So its almost a 50 percent chance that when a member comes up to you they will be speaking Spanish haha. But it was great. A study abroad group from BYU came actually. They were all stuffing fashion. So it was a group of 24 girls. We ended up sitting them in a room next to the chapel and we translated testimony meeting for them. It was alright. Haha. After church some members invited us to stay and eat lunch with them. So we did and it was fun. Lots of them were South America so lots of Spanish but I understood all right. Also the Firenze Capi stayed with us that night because they had a meeting in Milano the next day so that was fun.
Monday we had a lesson with guy named Renzo. He is 25 and is South American. So it was a little difficult to go about the lesson but we got by. We taught the restoration and talked about the Book of Mormon. From what he understood he is interested to learn more. So we are meeting him again on Tuesday and Thursday! And we are bringing a Spanish speaker with us too Haha.
Tuesday was good. We had a lesson with Renzo again. And this time our friend Jenny came and helped us. We taught the Plan of Salvation and it went really well. Obviously the plan of Salvation is a lot to take in so he was a but confused but he understood. Our second lesson got cancelled so that was a bummer but vabbè. That night we had serata familiare (family home evening). It was super fun. We had quite a few people show up but they were all really late Haha. But we had a lesson and game and a treat. It was a good time.
Overall we had a good week. I'm sorry I say this a lot but I really am bad at taking pictures. Again I will try and be better.
Vi voglio bene!
