Week 68 (Piacenza, Milano) Traditional African food with some cookies

Buon natale a tutti!

So since Christmas is on pday they gave us pday today! So I decided I'd give a quick update today.

Well these first days of the transfer have been pretty good. I've actually had a really bad cold this whole past week so it hasn't been a ton of fun. I've been blowing my nose 24/7 so that kinda sucks. But that's the only reason why it hasn't been going well. My new comp, Anz. Szvoboda is pretty cool. We have had a good time together so far and we have fun, so that's good. Also I'm senior companion and district leader this transfer. So that'll be fun.

As for the week. The first few days we took it easy because of my sickness. So we mostly stayed inside and did studies. We got out and did a bit of finding to get fresh air and to be out of the house. On Friday we were able to meet with an African simp who we have been trying to meet for a while. So that was awesome! We got to know him and taught the restoration of the gospel. It went pretty well! He is actually really intelligent.  And he was asking some really good questions. He asked, " how can I know that I have recieved an answer to my prayer?" We tried explaining that there isnt just one certain way of knowing. That you can feel it in your heart and or thoughts that come to your mind. And many other ways. He kinda wasnt understanding very well. But we told him that as long as he has faith that he will recieve an answer, then he will get one. So it was a good lesson overall. Saturday was our Ward Christmas party! (I guess that's something I haven't put in my emails. While I was in Muggio, Piacenza became a ward! It's no longer a branch! So that's super exciting! ) But as for the party, it was pretty good. We all watched The Christ Child together. And I love that video so much! So good! After that, Babbo Natale (literal translation: daddy Christmas lol!) It was fun seeing the kids get excited for Santa. After, all the presents were handed out. We all chilled together and ate pizza. It was a good night.

Sunday we had a great Christmas Sacrament meeting. It was really nice. And then right after, we were invited to our African members house to eat Fufu! It's a traditional African meal.  It's like bread almost like dough form but it's not dough. It's just weird sticky bread. And you take a piece and dip it in soup and then swallow the whole thing. No chewing. Or else it will get stuck in your teeth. It was a good experience! Haha! After that meal appointment we went to the church and baked cookies literally all afternoon with the Sorelle.  It was a fun time. We are gonna do some pass by's to all our members this week and give them cookies. So that'll be fun! The Sorelle got invited to go to catholic mass Sunday night and so we decided to go with them Haha! So we all went to mass! It was all our first time going to mass. And man was it an experience.  Pretty interesting stuff. We didn't stay the whole time because we had to go. But nonetheless a good experience.

And I believe that is all I have. Hope you all have a good week and a good Christmas! Last email I invited you all to watch The Christ Child video.  I'd love for you to email me with thoughts or things you learned from it. Plus I like hearing from you guys.

Vi voglio bene!!
