Well my friends we had another week.
Let's see, last pday we had a sports day with basically the entire zone. Played basketball and I was just draining threes all day. Not gonna lie it was pretty sick, lol. We also played soccer and I am pretty sucky at soccer but I scored 4 goals including the game winning one so um that was cool, Haha.
Thursday we went to Michele's house to do some service and teach him a lesson. We chopped down trees and cut them up for a while. Then talked about obeying the commandments. It went well. But we are gonna try and see him again this week and talk about baptism. So pray for us so that can go well. After Michele we went to the church that night for the BoM class that we started last week and we had 2 people show up. So that's a start! It was a fun time.
Friday, we went to the soup kitchen all morning for service. Always a fun time there. Then we just did calls and tried to get stuff planned for the next day as well as started working on our special fast and testimony meeting dedicated to missionary work and members.
Saturday I'm pretty sure we had like 3 lessons set up with a member appointment to end the day. But literally everything fell through. So we ended up not having a lot to do. It's honestly good we have 3 hours of studies to do everyday because without those we would be screwed, Haha.
Obviously Sunday was good as always. One of the African members brought her brother and it was his first time. And he didn't understand or speak Italian like at all. So I translated for him. So that was fun. We did weekly planning that day as well.
Monday spent a lot of the day in church working on the testimony meeting thing. Us missionaries are in charge of the entire meeting. Both sacrament and Sunday school. So we have a lot to plan and get ready. But it should be good. We also went to my homie Sabrian's house that night and had dinner with him and Cristel and his brother Henri. Always a fun time being with those peeps. And Sabrian is helping us with the special Sunday as well so we talked about that. We had some dope Albanian food (he is from Albania). And it was so good!
Tuesday we had apartment inspections with the senior couple. And they were blown away on how nice our apartment was. Shout out to Mom, making you proud!
Then the senior couple took us and the Sorelle out to breakfast before district meeting. District meeting went well again. I did my training on having a "Mamba Mentality" to honor Kobe. And it was actually really good. Had a good time planning it and giving it. #RIPKobe
That night we had a meal appointment with some members. Good family, good food, great time.
Well peeps, that's all I got.
I wanna end this email with part of my training.
In defining Mamba Mentality Kobe said, " if you see me in a fight with a bear, pray for the bear. That's mamba mentality., we don't quit, we don't cower, we don't run. We endure and conquer. Stop feeling sorry for yourself, find the silver lining and get to work with the same belief, same drive and same conviction as ever."
The mission (or life) is hard. There are a lot of times when it is really hard. Paraphrased Quote by Sorella Dorman, "we don't win every day on the mission (or in life)" But when we have that "mamba mentality", we can overcome those hard days. We don't quit, we don't cower, and we don't run. We stand and we fight.
Part of having that "mamba mentality" is striving to become our very best self. So taking those trials and using them to become better. Every day on the mission (or in life) we have some sort of trial. Whether that be not having the motivation or what. But as we take those trials head on and push through them we can better ourselves.
I just wanted to share that and say that I know that times can be hard. Some harder than others. But I know that when you stand and try to overcome your trials, you will receive strength and blessings. Have that Mamba Mentality!
Vi voglio bene!
